Week six of the 2025 NFL season

It's week six of the NFL season , following recent talk about the Buffalo Bills and Philadelphia Eagles as possible championship contenders, they both lost their perfect starts.
Striking in those games was the amount of penalties both conceded. The Eagles did so in key moments meaning they kind of defeated themselves after leading by two touchdowns going into the fourth period versus Denver, set to play overseas this Sunday.
However it proved good to observe that Denver quarterback the rookie was able to have the shortfall before lead three successful possessions on three possessions in the fourth quarter, to win the victory by four points.
Denver boast the defensive player of the year with cornerback Pat Surtain II. They are first in red zone defence, while the Eagles lead the league in red zone offence, yet Denver prevailed in that battle.
They executed effective strategies regarding simulated pressure. They did not always sending more than four defenders instead they could position two linebackers in the 'A' gap then withdrawing them and dispatch a slot defender off the edge.
Early on in the campaign, it was noted during a show that Denver might emerge as this season's surprise contenders. They ended last season strongly then excelled of building upon that.
Could Denver be this year's dark horses?
Recently acquired TE Evan Engram has excelled significantly and recent running back JK Dobbins is a guy they believe in. He's currently fifth league-wide for rushing yards (over 400) as well as tied for fourth in rushing scores (4).
I love that the coach the Broncos' leader displays "RUSH!" at the top on his call sheet.
This demonstrates that Denver are a team that wants to run first, since you can do a lot off the back of that. It reduces down the pass rush and keeps you in favourable situations.
This has benefited quarterback the young passer, who came the NFL as a first-round selection last year, passing for 29 TDs – just behind Justin Herbert in rookie records (31 in 2020).
Josh Allen and Herbert have powerful arms to throw anywhere, but they lack in the same way as Nix. He has incredible passing ability, which is different, plus he is so athletic.
His assets are his movement, being able to pass while moving, and using different arm angles to deliver the pass as he moves out of the pocket, on rollouts. He can deliver precision throws over the middle and past defenders.
As a rookie QB, aged 25, he's got great composure in the pocket and is not really fazed by the blitz. He tries to avoid being tackled whenever possible and is able throw in tight spots. He possesses sharp intelligence and remains very decisive.
When you constantly run the ball it consumes the clock and forces the opponent to stay on the field for longer, and if you've got a mobile QB the defence must cover the area vertically side to side. This proves exhausting.
The quarterback has bitten back with the coach on the sideline at times and it seems the coach likes that attitude, that he's such a competitor. In my view it's exciting for the coach to have a young quarterback who's similar to moldable clay. He can truly develop him how he desires to shape him. I think it's a unique opportunity for him.
Payton has won a Super Bowl and now surpassed a legend in all-time victories (173 - tied 14th overall). He's seen everything. In my opinion the achievements Denver are experiencing offensively is largely down to his guidance, his play-calling, his game sense – and the pairing with the QB helps make him what he is.
You wouldn't want a more qualified person guiding you, to assist you during some of the tougher situations and build confidence.
I have faith in the Broncos' defense, in the QB's grit and calm. But are they strong enough to go against a top squad at its best? Because that was not championship-level play from Philadelphia in their last game.
Currently, I don't think the Broncos are elite. They're performing above average, that's a solid position to be in their division. All they need is to continue this trajectory.
They're really good at embracing their strength, that is the ground game, and this is precisely what they must do versus the Jets at Tottenham. It's going to be the JK Dobbins show, in essence.
New York have allowed 140 yards on the ground per game (among the worst), five rushing touchdowns this season (10th worst), and they are the only team yet to win a game.
Since the league started recording turnovers decades ago, the Jets are also the first team to be without a single takeaway in five outings, this is surprising when you think that their new coach Aaron Glenn defensive co-ordinator with another team.
The Chiefs' QB says the Chiefs are off to a poor start after Monday's defeat by the Jaguars.
Following this Sunday's game, the Broncos have a smooth-ish schedule up to their break (in week twelve) - the New York Giants, Dallas Cowboys, the Texans and Las Vegas Raiders before the Kansas City Chiefs.
In their division, Kansas City hold a losing record and the Broncos are tied with the Chargers on 3-2 so they could challenge for the top of the division.
This hinges upon what version of the Chiefs they meet since Denver {beat|def
