The Warrior Group Introduced
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the initial group of characters who will split off from the main group to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
The Soldiers table features the determined fighter (brought to life by Travis), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (Sam), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was evident from the outset that keeping everyone at the same party would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of the new season serve as an Overture, intertwining the personal journeys before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Seekers.
Characteristics of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for adventurers who prefer a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where non-violent answers are rare.
At first glance, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander Halovar might seem unsuited, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Reasons to Leave
To begin with, the team has a clear idea where to go next after a violent opening clash with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi—whose passing initiated the campaign’s events—manipulated the enemy for his own means, invading the hidden lair, assaulting the character, and swiping all the enchanted items to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and escaped to a secure base in the remote area, beyond the urban center, with Cyd pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a individual motive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and closest confidant, seeks revenge.
- The adventurer is familiar with Timmony and cautions that it is a dangerous environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as important members in the powerful family could enable the party enter areas they normally couldn’t.
- Additionally, The grateful character swore a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city no longer safe:
- The rogue and The character are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The cleric turned against the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the family.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in quest for the antagonist.
