Supporters Urge Detainment of Individual Who Seized Ariana Grande
Passionate fans of the pop star are urging that a person who breached a fence and grabbed the actress during the recent Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or expelled from Singapore.
A circulating footage reveals the individual from Australia bypassing camera operators and rushing toward Grande while the performers proceeded down a event pathway accompanied by fans.
Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo quickly pulled the stunned performer away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being led away of the premiere by security officers.
Mr Wen posted on Instagram recently that he was "released after being taken in", though official papers showed that he was set to appear on the next day. It is uncertain if he was formally accused.
History of Event Invasions
This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who describes himself as a "Troll Most Hated", has crashed a celebrity gathering. His Instagram feed features clips of him interrupting other celebrity events, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a similar way during The Chainsmokers event in the city last winter.
"Steps should be implemented enforced against him as this is clearly a criminal offence," stated an Instagram commenter, in a reply to a video Mr Wen uploaded of his act.
"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" another Instagram user remarked.
Supporters Show Disapproval Over Ariana's Past Trauma
Several fans accused Mr Wen for "triggering past anxiety" Grande, who had discussed dealing with PTSD after a terrorist explosion at the conclusion of her 2017 performance in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring numerous individuals.
"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another response on Instagram.
Some attendees also faulted guards at the premiere for not being sufficiently alert; while some called for digital services to remove Mr Wen's videos.
Reaction and Premiere Information
In videos shared widely, Grande seemed startled when she was approached by the intruder. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted consoling her while Mr Wen was escorted away by security.
Grande has remained silent on the incident, and the rest of the event carried on uninterrupted.
Hundreds of fans had assembled in a mass of emerald and rose at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore shopping center, including a number who had queued for as long as a significant duration before it started.
The motion picture, to be launched on 21 November, is the follow-up of a two-part interpretation of the acclaimed Broadway and West End show Wicked, which revolves around the unexpected friendship between two very different witches.
The production itself is a spin-off of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.
Grande, who acts as the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a champagne pink glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who portrays the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress decorated with roses.
They were accompanied by co-star Jeff Goldblum.
The initial film, Wicked, was the top-earning film of the previous year in the UK, and scored ten Oscar nominations, securing two for outstanding attire and set decoration.
