Iran Reports Assault on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, During Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Tehran reports attacking a American military facility in Bahrain, as the country executed strikes throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and ongoing attack against it by the United States and Israeli forces.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the main base of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Bahrain's capital, Manama. The scope of any impact is unclear and the United States has not commented.
Regional Interceptions
Elsewhere across the region, the United Arab Emirates, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - all home to American military installations - said they have shot down incoming projectiles in their territorial skies.
In Doha, Qatar's defence ministry said it had intercepted a number of projectiles apparently targeting the al-Udeid air base, the biggest US military installation in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard said in a statement it was targeting American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in retaliation for the strikes on Iran launched by the US and Israel on Saturday morning.
That US-Israeli operation - launched at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the people of Iran to rise up against the leadership.

In Israel, sirens were heard across the country after the Israel Defense Forces reported it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"UAE air defence systems engaged the projectiles with notable success and shot down a number of missiles," it added.
Officials reported debris fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some structural damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from Al Dhafra Air Base, south of the Emirati capital, along with the UAE Air Force.
