Esteemed Performer Pat Finn, Known For Appearances in Friends and The Middle, Passes Away at Age 60.
US performer Pat Finn, who featured in beloved TV shows including Friends, Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed at the age of 60.
The comedic improv actor died at home in LA recently following treatment for cancer since 2022, as reported by news outlets.
"He never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his loved ones stated in a statement.
They continued that he had "lived his life fully - with happiness and energy".
A Notable Career on Screen
Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in the mid-90s, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.
He subsequently landed a repeating character on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, playing a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he had guest spots on a variety of popular shows, such as:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight seasons over nearly a decade.
His work in movies encompass It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
A Life in Improv
Away from his on-screen roles, Finn was deeply involved in improvisational comedy and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was a professor.
He was involved with a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"He coached, befriended and mentored many learners over the years and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, peer Richard Kind noted there was "not a more kind, gentle, or funny, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Perpetually optimistic, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.
Pat Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, three children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
