Raducanu reached the third round in three out of four Grand Slams during the season.

Britain's Emma Raducanu has pulled out of the last two tournaments in 2025 as a result of a medical condition that has affected her over the past 10 days.

Raducanu, aged 22 was due to play in events in Asia but opted to return home to recover before starting plans for the 2026 season.

Those preparations will involve her coach Francisco Roig, as both individuals have decided to continue collaborating for the upcoming season.

She had her blood pressure taken while playing the initial match against Ann Li in Wuhan last week and stopped playing when losing 6-1 4-1 on a day with extreme humidity.

She needed once more a visit from the doctor at the recent Ningbo Open, where she was defeated in three sets to Chinese wildcard Zhu Lin in the opening round.

Raducanu was also moving far from freely in the deciding set against Zhu because of the lower back problem that has been a concern on several occasions in 2025.

Those results followed a positive campaign, in which Raducanu rose into the international top 30 after a long gap for the first time since 2022, ended with three successive defeats.

The athlete was close to victory with three match points prior to falling to Jessica Pegula in the third round in the Beijing tournament last month.

She secured 28 victories during 2025 and advanced to the semis in the Washington tournament, but her standout performance was at the Miami Open in March.

The British number one made the last eight of a premier WTA event, defeating eighth seed Emma Navarro en route prior to a loss in three sets to the world number four Pegula.

Her coach was trainer Mark Petchey between Miami and Wimbledon, with Francisco Roig stepping in for the US Open.

The initial agreement with the ex-coach of Rafael Nadal was until the end of the season but they will keep working together, with a training block pencilled in late this year.

She mentioned that her three-day trial with Roig post-Wimbledon was like a "secret mission" as the meeting was kept under wraps.

She came very close to overcoming Sabalenka, the world number one at their first tournament together in August's Cincinnati tournament.

Roig was also with Raducanu in the New York tournament, where she made the third stage before being beaten by Rybakina, champion at Wimbledon in 2022.
